Zakhar Prilepin. Writer, journalist, screenwriter, winner of various prestigious literary awards. Zakhar’s former occupations are even more various: bodyguard, squad leader in Special Police Forces and soldier during the war in Chechnya in 1996 and 1999, Chief Editor of "Political News Agency – Nizhny Novgorod" and the CEO of "Novaya Gazeta" in Nizhny Novgorod.
His books are translated into eleven languages (Arabian, Bulgarian, Czech, Chinese, English, Finnish, French, Latvian, Polish, Romanian and Serbian) and included in either obligatory or recommended lists of Russian literature for schools.
